VIRGINIA PARTNERSHIP FOR ANIMAL WELFARE AND SUPPORT

RECEIVES LARGE DONATION FROM IAMS PET FOOD COMPANY

Christiansburg, VA --  The Iams Pet Food Company has partnered with the Virginia Partnership for Animal Welfare and Support, (VA PAWS), a local humane organization, to provide a significant donation of Iams products to help orphaned pets in the NRV and Roanoke Valley. “This donation will help numerous nonprofit shelters and rescue groups care for the pets in their care” reports Lila Borge Wills, VA PAWS President. Wills arranged for the donation to assist as many shelters as possible.  “Collaboration and partnership is key to our mission, and it is the best way to help people help animals”.

The Second Harvest Food Bank in Salem is collaborating to assist VA PAWS in distributing the large Iams donation. The donation will help nonprofit organizations including Roanoke Valley SPCA, Salem Animal Shelter, Pulaski County Humane Society, Pound Pals of Radford, Montgomery County Animal Care and Control, Floyd County Humane Society and Animal Control, Dalmatian Rescue of SW VA, Angels of Assisi, and many others.

"The Iams Company is happy to help orphan pets in the Roanoke and New River Valley area of SW Virginia. This Iams product donation is part of bringing our mission to enhance pet well-being to life" reports Kris Parlett, Iams External Relations Specialist.

VA PAWS is a local nonprofit animal welfare organization working to ease animal suffering through active spay/neuter programs, rescue and adoption, education, and promoting responsible pet ownership and care.
