Up Kitten with noose around neck
rescued in Blacksburg

Paul and the rescued kitten On the morning of November 15th Paul Arehart found a 10 week old female kitten tied to a fire hydrant with a noose in downtown Blacksburg. The kitten's head was badly beaten. Paul said that it looked the knot on the far end of the bloody noose had loosened, saving the kitten's life. Paul immediately took the kitten to the vet. She will make a full recovery. Paul is a very loving cat lover and is keeping her. He hasn't decided on a name for the lucky kitten just yet.

The lucky lady VA PAWS vice president Lila Borge-Wills informed the Roaonke Times about this recent case of animal abuse. On November 18th the newspaper ran a story about Paul and the kitten to inform the public about these all-to-common of acts of cruelty against defenseless animals. VA PAWS is donating the funds for the kitten's spay.
