The New River Valley Current Section of the Roanoke Times provides space to local humane organizations to display pets for adoption. The photos along with a description, is published in the Sunday edition. We at VA PAWS try to use dogs from the local Montgomery County Animal Shelter as our Pet of the Week. This gives the dogs in the shelter a little more exposure and hopefully encourages people to visit the shelter. We have also used this opportunity to showcase cats and dogs in foster care with VA PAWS members that are up for adoption.
